Brief History / Profile
A contemporary community choir, the Tema Youth Choir (TYC) was founded in November 2001 under the direction of Mr. Ebenezer A. Allotey. A relatively new entrant on the community Choir’s scene, the TYC has, thankfully, good professional leadership, committed membership, and a backbone of well-meaning benefactors and patrons. Expectedly, the Choir has grown and progressed steadily over the period, and is now regarded by the general public as a leading Youth Choir in Ghana.
The Aims And Objectives Of The TYC Are:
- To share and develop musical skills and talents in the youth of Tema.
- To provide choral music for social interaction in Tema and its vicinity.
- To offer continuing social and Christian education of its members.
- To be leaders in sacred choral music production in Ghana.
- To provide nurturing for careers in music and the performing arts.
Generally considered a Choir of choice, the TYC has performed creditably at important private, public, corporate, and national functions.
