Brief History / Profile
The TYC has organized a number of musical events over the five – year
period, the most significant of which include:
- Various Western Classical Concerts,
- Contemporary Ghanaian Concerts,
- Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols, Christmas and Easter Concerts, notably at prestigious venues in Accra, Tema and Kumasi.
Special concerts were held in Tema during the period to receive and dedicate various instruments, notably electronic organs (PSR 2100 and PSR 1100), donated by our Patrons to support this music ministry. Another special thanksgiving service for God’s manifold blessings was organized
at the First Baptist Church, Comm.5 Tema (5/ 3/ 06)
Public-spirited as it is, the TYC undertook a number of community initatives, including blood donation and clean-up exercise at the Tema General Hospital (25/ 2/ 06)
Over the five-year period, the TYC undertook a couple of music recording projects. Its debut CD/Cassette album (Afe Ato Hen Bio & Aseda) was launched at the Novotel, Accra on
(3/ 12/ 03). On the 10th September, 2005, the TYC launched its second album with a concert
at the Cresta Royale Hotel, Accra.
The TYC planned a number of activities to commemorate
its fifth anniversary, including:
- Launch of the 5th Anniversary at the Greenwich Presby Church, Comm.1 Tema (10/9/06)
- Song Ministration & Donation at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi (21/10/06)
- Song Ministration & Donation to Narh-Bita Hospital, Tema (18/ 11/ 06)
- Song Ministration & Donation to Port Clinic, Tema (18/ 11/ 06)
- Clean-up Exercise in Tema in Collaboration with Trinity Presby Youth Choir
& Greenwich Presby Youth Choir Tema (18/ 11/ 06)
TYC’s involvement in Ghana’s 50th anniversary and other important activities include:
- Presidential Cocktail Reception at Forecourt of State House during Ghana’s 50th Independence Anniversary
- Ghana @ 50 Religious Choral Festival at Forecourt of State House (13/ 1/ 07)
- Ecobank Thanksgiving Service in Accra (14/ 1/ 07)
- Joint Concert as part of Ghana’s 50th Anniversary with the Chamber Singers of Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, at Calvary Methodist Church Adabraka, Accra (20/ 1/ 07)
